Roald Dahl Museum

After a hearty lunch at the Deep Mill Diner, Grandma and Grandad took us to Roald Dahl museum and Story Centre in the Buckingmashire village where he lived and wrote for forty years.

We learned lots of facts about Roald Dahl and were fascinated by the full size replica of his small writing hut furnished exactly as he left it.

The fantastic Mr (and Mrs) Fox

We also discovered that Megan is the same height as Sophie, the orphaned girl at the centre of the BFG tale and William is the same height as the Oompa-Lumpas in Charlie and the chocolate factory.

In the story room we spent some time exploring the books, doing some crafts and even making our own stop-go animated film!

Thank you Grandma and Grandad for a lovely day out!

  1. Another great place to explore. Thanks Grandma and Grandad for treating Megan and William to an action packed day out. They were very excited to tell me all about it when they got home.

  2. Not a large place but packed with interesting facts and ideas to encourage children to use their imagination. Megan and William were eager to participate in everything!

Grandma and Grandad enjoyed the whole day.
